A prize for transferring the knowledge acquired in the classroom to real industrial manufacturing environments.

Last Friday, February the 10th,country’s leading machine tool manufacturer, DANOBATGROUP awards the prize to the best industrial development project on “Turning of pipes and couplings in a machining environment”

With the aim of developing closer links between academia and the business world, the machine tool manufacturer DANOBATGROUP has recognised like the best industrial development project on “Turning of pipes and couplings in a machining environment” carried out by the students of the TECNUN (the University of Navarra Higher School of Engineering) Industrial Engineering Masters course.

This prize falls within the collaboration agreement framework signed by DANOBATGROUP and TECNUN in December 2015. The aim of this agreement is to promote the involvement of students in the professional world and offer them the opportunity to develop and transfer the knowledge acquired in the classroom to real industrial manufacturing environments.

In this regard, the TECNUN students have taken the opportunity to carry out a technology project at the premises of the country’s leading machine tool manufacturer, DANOBATGROUP, and at the IK4-IDEKO research technology centre, where they have been in contact with the most advanced and innovative products and technologies.

The experience has enabled them to get to know at first hand a real industrial environment where the doors are open to a solid professional development in the sector.

Throughout their learning journey, the students have had the support of the DANOBATGROUP and IK4-IDEKO professionals, who have accompanied the students during the theoretical and practical training on automated manufacturing systems, industrial robotics and precision design and engineering.

The students have had to address a problem proposed by the company, propose a solution and defend the proposal to a tribunal made up of the teachers in their education centre, DANOBATGROUP professionals and researchers at the IK4-IDEKO research technology centre, the driver of innovation of the machine tool group.

These prizes, which on this occasion have had the participation of 64 students, seek to support the training of excellence received by the Masters students.

This is an initiative that raises the awareness of future engineers to the need to obtain a high qualification in order to successfully face the new challenges of the future of machine tools, and that instils in the students skills that will help in teamwork, inventiveness and analytical capability, among other skills.
