Last news about IDEKO.

54% of income comes from technology transfer projects with industry, while 46% is linked to research and specialisation activities.
Advances in artificial intelligence and precision robotics have strengthened IDEKO’s position as a strategic partner in advanced manufacturing.
Order intake also hit a record €14 million, while investments exceeded €1 million.
In 2026, IDEKO is celebrating its 40th anniversary, marking four decades of driving advanced manufacturing through research and innovation. The record figures in revenue and order intake achieved in 2025, presented at its latest Annual General Meeting, reflect the organisation’s sustained growth and consolidation.
In 2025, IDEKO reached a turnover of €14.5 million, representing a 12.4% increase compared to 2024 (€12.9M).
A significant share of this revenue, 54% (€7.8M), came from technology transfer projects with companies in sectors such as aerospace, energy and machine tools. Progress in digitalisation, artificial intelligence and precision robotics has reinforced IDEKO’s role as a key technology partner for the aerospace industry, which accounts for around 25% of its activity. This has also led to the establishment of strategic collaborations, such as the agreement with ITP Aero.
Among the developments already delivering tangible impact in manufacturing, a standout example is IDEKO’s contribution to the design and development of a new generation industrial robot. This solution combines the precision and stability of machine tools with the flexibility of robotics, opening up new production possibilities for key sectors including aerospace, automotive and energy. The Research centre has also made significant advances in the development of dynamic and control systems for robotic applications.
The remaining 46% of revenue (€6.7M) was generated through research and specialisation activities funded by public programmes: 16% from European initiatives, 24% from the Basque Government, 1% from the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, and 5% from the Spanish central administration.
As a member of the Basque Research and Technology Alliance (BRTA), IDEKO also reported record order intake of €14 million and investments exceeding €1.1 million, mainly aimed at upgrading its infrastructure and facilities.
The Annual General Meeting was chaired by Xabier Alzaga, President of IDEKO, and Rafael Lizarralde, CEO of the technology centre, who both positively assessed the results and outlined the roadmap for 2026.

“Our R&D activity is essential to continue strengthening our capabilities in technology generation and development, with a clear focus on transferring that knowledge to industry,” said Rafael Lizarralde.
A leading environment for research excellence
IDEKO’s commitment to scientific excellence is reflected in key indicators: 27 publications in indexed journals in 2025, 42 active patents, 41 PhD holders within the team and 11 researchers currently pursuing doctoral studies.
With a workforce of 138 people at year-end, IDEKO continues to foster an attractive and high-performance working environment, supporting the professional development of its team. The Research centre is working towards the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R) certification, which recognises organisations that promote a favourable environment for research careers.
“Attracting, developing and retaining talent has always been, and remains, one of our key priorities,” added the CEO.
Looking ahead, IDEKO will continue to strengthen its position as a benchmark in advanced manufacturing, promote collaboration and expand its network of partnerships both nationally and internationally to address the technological and industrial challenges of the sector.
Key objectives of the current Strategic Plan include entering new markets, increasing the value of technology assets derived from in-house research, and driving high-impact projects in collaboration with strategic partners.
