Last news about IDEKO.

The research centre, in addition to sponsoring the event, will play a prominent role in the scientific committee and technical programme with six presentations.
As part of its ongoing commitment to applied research, knowledge transfer and collaboration with the industrial sector, IDEKO will take an active part in the 24th Advanced Manufacturing and Machine Tool Congress, to be held from 29 to 31 October in Donostia-San Sebastián.
A member of the Basque Research and Technology Alliance (BRTA), IDEKO is a silver sponsor of the congress and will play a key role both in the scientific committee and in the technical programme.
On one hand, Jokin Muñoa, Scientific Director of IDEKO, will represent the centre —a benchmark in the development of innovative technologies for advanced manufacturing— within the congress’s scientific committee.
On the other hand, IDEKO’s researchers will deliver six technical presentations showcasing solutions designed to achieve more effective and efficient industrial production.
Digital twin, vibrations and robotics
The presentations will highlight leading developments such as the digital twin for 5-axis milling of thin-walled parts, aimed at improving accuracy and process stability; the enhancement of slender tool cutting performance through an integrated tunable tool holder; and an innovative ultrasound-based inspection system that uses imaging techniques for the control of complex geometries and materials.
IDEKO will also present advances in the suppression of self-excited vibrations in robotic milling of light alloys, the design of high-dynamic gantry-type machines with crossed linear guides (CroXY), and new technological solutions in precision engineering and advanced metrology focused on sustainable, zero-defect production systems.
The research centre will complete its participation with a presentation on high-performance robotics, focused on design, simulation and calibration, with the goal of improving efficiency and reliability in advanced manufacturing environments.
Commitment to the Basque language
Two of IDEKO’s presentations will be delivered in Basque, reflecting the centre’s commitment to promoting and normalising the use of the Euskera in the scientific and technological sphere. This initiative reaffirms IDEKO’s dedication to fostering the use of Basque across all areas, integrating it naturally into specialised industrial forums.
The Advanced Manufacturing and Machine Tool Congress (Manufacturing Congress), organised by AFM Cluster and recognised as the main national meeting point for the sector, will bring together professionals, researchers and leading companies over three days to discuss the challenges and opportunities of advanced manufacturing and machine tools from a global perspective.
Topics such as scientific research, industrial digitalisation, sustainability, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence applied to manufacturing will be at the centre of the discussions. Featured speakers —including Marc Vidal, Genís Roca and Jon Sistiaga— will share forward-looking insights on the future of the industry.
