This thesis introduces the concept of Competitive Intelligence as a necessary tool for the identification of opportunities, threats and risks, and the subsequent improvement of the strategic decision-making process. The proposed model provides a new global, holistic and integrative approach not yet dealt with in any literature. Studying this with the Spanish community of experts allowed us to identify the main critical factors.
