The hot/warm levelling
of the steel is applied at an intermediate temperature interval in which the
deformation and phase transformation can interact. The main objective of this
study was focused on analysing the behaviour of two steels in this temperature
interval under different deformation conditions. To simulate the small plastic
deformations of the industrial levelling process, low deformation multipass
torsion tests with cyclic reversal were carried out. The thermo-mechanical
cycles applied were designed with the intention of analysing the sensitivity
during the cyclic deformation to: type of steel, initial state of the austenite,
cooling speed and deformation temperature.
