Adaptation of scanner type moving optic systems to the hardening process by remote laser

More and more multitask machines are being introduced into the current machine-tool market that incorporate more than one manufacturing process without having to move the workpiece.  Currently, the incorporation of high-power laser systems plus scanner is highly valued due to their capability and flexibility as regards the type of process. The scanners are systems based on moving optics that can move the laser beam with linear speeds that can exceed 7000 mm/s. Normally, these systems are used for marking, texturing or polishing metal workpieces, processes in which melting and sublimation of the material predominate. Its viability for laser surface treatment processes is still to be determined.
