MAMIA

Multifunctional adaptive machine with artificial intelligence

MAMIA

This project raises the adaptation of a conventional milling/drilling and turning machine into a multifunction machine with built-in artificial intelligence to optimise performance and adaptability to different operations and processes. Through the new built-in smart functions, the machine will be able to perform gear cutting and grinding operations in addition to standard machine operations (milling/drilling and turning).

THE CHALLENGE

• Sensorisation of the machine to determine its status and perform specific work functions based on the data collected.

• Development of specific machine cycles for grinding.

• Development of smart algorithms to provide the machine with sensitivity to immediately adapt to changes in the process and the environment independently.

THE RESULT

• Definition of machine modifications for adaptation to grinding and gear cutting.

• Design of an on-machine sensor network to provide it with artificial intelligence.

• Development of specific grinding cycles.

PARTNERS

In the project have participated IDEKO and SORALUCE.
