The tool for the setup and optimisation of the
centreless grinding process that is described in this article constitutes a
qualitative leap with respect to the previous version and over any other tool
existing on the market for this process. It
considers the options both for minimising production times and adjusting the
plunge cycles or the throughfeed process to a required production, taking into
account not only the characteristic instabilities of this process but also the
limitations common to all grinding processes.
