GRINDING SPECIALISATION COURSE FIRST EVENT
November 3, 10, 17, 2011. 3 conferences
Reason: The grinding process is not a process in which there are many specialists or companies that offer advice or improvement. Given this situation and the degree of maturity of this technology at IDEKO-IK4, an informal training course could be of interest from the point of view of:
1. Being the benchmark at a national level in this activity for industry. For IDEKO-IK4 to be considered the "grinding expert".
2. Making contact with companies to carry out improvement projects on real processes. To carry out projects and increase turnover.
3. Understanding the real needs of the market, in a way that provides new lines of research and development of this technology.
4. Broadening our portfolio of customers in order to have less dependency on our main customer at this time. This experiment could continue to grow at an international level.
Objective:
To make contacts with companies in order to be able to carry out improvement projects on their processes. To be a benchmark at a national level in the grinding field, knowledge, problem solving, optimisation of processes and capacity to carry out applied research.
Directed at: Line managers, plant managers, production managers, technical directors.
Topics:
Day 1:
Grinding principles.
Conventional abrasives, material removal mechanism, wheel wear and glazing. Wheel wear ratio. Wheel selection. Influence of the cutting conditions on the wheel behaviour and process. Selection of the cutting conditions. Dressing with conventional abrasives. Influence on the part results. Defects caused by poor dressing conditions. Use of superabrasive wheels. Dressing of superabrasive wheels.
Practical for selection of cutting conditions and dressing. Wheel wear.
Day 2:
Thermal behaviour of grinding processes. Heat generation, heat distribution, thermal damage (burning). Residual stresses.
Importance of proper cooling and cleaning of the wheel. Definition of cooling conditions, development of nozzles, design of cooling equipment.
Burrs in grinding.
Static and dynamic stiffness. Vibrations during grinding. Balance. Techniques and technologies for the suppression of vibrations (IKBALANCE, MUTE).
Distortions of thermal origin during grinding.
Practical for cooling conditions, suppression of vibrations, burning.
Day 3:
Fundamentals, technologies, techniques and applications for process optimisation. Reduction of the time cycle. (IKGRIND, IKDAS, SUA, GRINDSIM, MUTE, DARDO, TUNE)
Analysis and reduction of process costs. (IKCOST)
Grinding technologies. High speed grinding.
Real examples of problem resolution.
Suggestion of problems from the attendees.
Practical for optimised cycle design.
Duration: 3 complete 8 hour days. The days will be spaced out over a week. Proposed dates: 3-10-17 November 2011
Methodology: classroom and practicals
Group composition: Maximum group size of 20 people (depending on the sound system available at IDEKO-IK4).
25th anniversary. Technology conference
27, 28 November 2011 - 3 days
To celebrate its 25th anniversary, Ideko-IK4 Technology Centre is pleased to invite you to the technology conference which will be held in Garaia Innovation centre next 27 and 28 October.
The conference will focus on trends and applications in the world of mechatronics and manufacturing processes.
Edorta Larrauri, Director of Technology of the Basque Government will officially open the event in the presence of renowned experts in the academic or business world.

Artificial vision applied to the industry
October 20, 2011
IK4-Ideko in collaboration with INFAIMON, company specialized in systems of artificial vision, invite to the course "ARTIFICIAL VISION APPLIED to the INDUSTRY" that will take place the next Wednesday 20 of October in the IK4-Ideko facilities, in Elgoibar. The course will be carried out in the Txillida meeting room, from 9:00 to 17:00 h.
In the course you will discover the facility of handling of a system of artificial vision and will be able to know the last technologies within this industrial sector. It will begin with theoretical and specific formation of components of a vision system, practical formation will continue, and will finalize with examples of solved real industrial applications with system of artificial vision.
In addition, part of the team of technicians will be available to solve any type of doubt that the assistants can have about their respective applications. In order to register to this free course, you should download the attendance form that will find in this link and send it filled in by email to cursos@infaimon.com or by fax to number 93 252 5758.
