About us
We are a technology centre that specialises in industrial production and manufacturing technologies, and we are integrated into the IK4 Technology Alliance.
Our activity covers the identification and analysis of opportunities, the design and development of products, business lines and production processes and the resolution of problems through the provision of technological services such as technical consultancy and equipment based services.
We are known for the scientific excellence developed in our lines of research which are aimed at advancing our specialisation. Our own organisational model encourages interdisciplinary work and we take special care in the qualification and professional development of our staff. We have the most up to date facilities and equipment and we are committed to collaborative work through the establishment of a wide range of contacts with leading centres at an international level.

- Kondia, company dedicated to the production of precision machining centres, joins Ideko as a user member.
- HIMACH Project. Start of construction of new building for High Performance Machining and ultra-precision technology.
- Nineteen professionals of the Centre, amongst which are directives and researchers, draw up and initiate the Strategic Plan 2005/2008 including attractive and ambitious challenges and future projects.
- Three new members affiliate to Ideko: Doiki and Latz as user members, and MPEG (Mondragón Goi Eskola Politeknikoa) as a collaborating member.
- Ideko is transformed into a second degree Co-Operative Society and integrates into one single project the user/company members, collaborating/entity members and work members (employees).
- Participation as founding members in the CIC marGUNE Co-operative Research Centre.
- Ranked as first in papers at the Machine Tool and Manufacturing Technology Congress, in which our ideas are disseminated.
- Complete revision of management processes of Ideko
- Achieved over 500 points in the EFQM Self-Assessment
- Score of over 400 points in the external EFQM evaluation and EFQM consolidation certificate.
- Ideko heads the first Strategic Action for High-Performance Machining
- Directing 2 lines of the Science and Technology Plan of the MCC
- First Spanish commercial machine with linear motors
- Ideko takes on the first project in which the activities of all technology bidders of the sector in the Basque Country are coordinated.
- Revision and drawing up of documents of our management processes supported by a PDCA cycle.
- Drawing up of Strategic Plan 2001 - 2004, setting objectives and plan of action for all Processes
- Drawing up of EFQM Report and carrying out of self-assessment scoring over 400 points
- Start of Integral Cooperation Agenda - with its Spanish initials PIC - with relevant companies of the machine tool sector

- ISO 9001 award for all R&D activities of the company, and start of process-based management and identification of core processes
- Drawing up of Strategic Plan 1997 - 2000, emphasising strong commitment to Total Quality as a strategic vehicle
- First operative prototype with linear motors manufactured in Spain, presented in Hannover
- Organisational restructuring and Strategic Plan 1993 - 1996; decision to implement Quality System (ISO 9001).
- Heading of European project SINTOMA
- Construction of building exclusively for use of Ideko and setting up of prototype workshop
- Setting up of IDEKO Technological Centre.
- Ideko takes on the coordination and planning of the technological policy of the leading machine tool manufacturers.
